May 1st – Labor Day? For us: Driving Day!
While others were relaxing on the sofa (perhaps with a beer in hand), we set off with Bäri. Our destination: Stuttgart, or more specifically, Böblingen. Because there's something there you shouldn't miss: the legendary Spätzle Drive-In . But more on that later...
Stopover in Ditzingen – pure farm idyll
Shortly after arriving in Ditzingen, we knew: This is a little piece of van life paradise. We were allowed to park on a lush green meadow in the middle of a farm. Surrounded by nature, with friendly hosts and happy dogs. Milo and Mooi were in heaven – and so were we. In the evening, we rounded off the day with a glass (or two?) of wine. Maybe even three. Who's counting?

May 2nd – Just stay
We enjoyed it so much that we abandoned our original plan: We'd stay another night. The farm owners? Incredibly welcoming. Our fire pit? Welcome. The evening was a feast for the senses. We grilled our legendary smash burgers right in front of the van – with flames, aromas, and a whole lot of van life.
May 3rd – Spätzle, baby!
On Saturday, the time had finally come. After a warm farewell from the farm, we continued on to Böblingen – the navigation system pointed to the Spätzle Drive-In , and our stomachs were happy. What can I say: Two portions, quite a bite, and top-notch in terms of taste. Homemade, fresh, and prepared with a lot of heart. From cheese spaetzle with fried onions to the special version with bacon – an absolute insider tip for anyone who wants to combine van life with culinary highlights.

Back towards Lake Constance – but not home
Admittedly, after so much spaetzle, we could have just gone straight to bed. But we weren't ready to "get back to everyday life." So we spontaneously looked for a new spot – above Lake Constance, on the German side. And again: we were lucky! A farmer let us stay in his meadow – with a view of the countryside, plenty of peace and quiet, and a feeling of freedom that's hard to describe.

Happy Moments - Happy Memories
And then came THE photo. Mooi and Milo were relaxing on the bed, looking out the open rear door while we stood outside – a moment full of peace, love, and van life magic. My wife had her hands full trying to keep the two in the picture. The self-timer did its best. The result: not a perfect photo – but one that will last forever.

Conclusion: Test drive number two? Passed with flying colors. Bäri is running. Milo and Mooi love it. And us? We're already counting down the days until the next outing.
