Our first nights in Bäri – traveling in Switzerland

The time had finally come: Bäri , our mobile home on four wheels, was able to show off his skills for the first time. And us? We simply enjoyed our first nights in the camper – close, spontaneous, and full of little highlights.

Night 1: Pizza & Parking Romance in Eschenz

We started very close by, in charming Eschenz. At the Raaben Restaurant , we treated ourselves to a delicious pizza—the perfect start to a cozy evening. Afterward, we settled in at Bäri , tested the lights, sorted our pillows and blankets, and tested how best to manage with two dogs and a camper bed. The answer: surprisingly good! The night in the parking lot was quiet, and our gut feeling was just right.

Night 2: Barbecue area with forest view near Beromünster

The next day we continued towards Beromünster. Above the village, we found a barbecue spot in the forest that could hardly have been more beautiful. It was all the better that we had brought along some of the best grilled meat from Willener's butcher shop in Amriswil – our trusted butcher. While the meat sizzled over the embers, we quietly enjoyed the sunset, watched the dogs, and simply took a deep breath. Bäri proved his worth here too – sheltered from the wind, comfortable, and always ready.

Night 3: Lungern – edge of the forest, pizza and Brünig feeling

We continued on to Sarnen , where—yes, this is a recurring theme throughout this trip—we couldn't resist pizza again. Then we drove toward Lungern, where we spent the night above the town, right on the edge of the forest at the foot of Brünig . A magical place—quiet, surrounded by nature, and with this feeling of freedom that's hard to describe. Our two four-legged friends were happy, we were happy—and Bäri was happy too.

Night 4: HochYbrig – babbling brook and family visit

From there we continued via Rothenthurm , where we made a special stop: We visited Milo's sister —a small family reunion with tails wagging and lots of joyful reunions. Afterward, we rolled on to Hoch-Ybrig , where we found a wonderful spot in the parking lot near the valley station, right next to a small stream. The sound of babbling included. It's hard to fall asleep any better.

Return journey with a stopover in Schänis

On the way back we stopped at the Schänis airfield , where we enjoyed a small lunch before finally heading back to Uttwil – with our heads full of impressions, our hearts full of anticipation and the feeling that our adventure with Bäri has only just begun.
